ABOUT AMCHAMS

AACCLA's 23 American Chambers of Commerce (AmChams) are independent, non-profit, business organizations based in 21 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Their primary objective is to promote trade and investment between their countries and the United States. Collectively, AmChams represent over 20,000 U.S. and local companies and executives managing the bulk of U.S. investment in the region. As members of AACCLA, AmChams are affiliated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the largest business federation in the world.

AmChams play an important role as links between the private sector and the governments in their host countries and in the United States. Their unique positioning enables them to effectively lobby for the interests and needs of their members. Their extensive experience and knowledge of doing business in the region make them a key resource for any U.S. company seeking to expand its operations into the Latin American and Caribbean markets.

    The American Chamber of Commerce in Argentina, an independent, non-profit organization, is dedicated to the promotion of trade and investment between the United States and Argentina. Founded in 1918, AmCham Argentina has more than 600 corporate members.     Established in 1916, the American Chamber of Commerce of Rio de Janeiro is comprised of over 500 Brazilian and foreign companies and 2,000 corporate executives. AmCham Brazil - Rio promotes the expansion of business relations between Brazil and the United States, as well as the other countries of the hemisphere. The AmCham acts as a spokesperson for its members before government institutions and private business associations.     Established in 1917, the mission of the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico is to promote bilateral trade and investment between Mexico and the United States. Representing 85 percent of U.S. private investment in Mexico, the Chamber actively advocates corporate issues and concerns before the U.S. and Mexican public and private sectors as well as multilateral organizations.
