Established in 1916, the American Chamber of Commerce of Rio de Janeiro is comprised of over 500 Brazilian and foreign companies and 2,000 corporate executives. AmCham Brazil – Rio promotes the expansion of business relations between Brazil and the United States, as well as the other countries of the hemisphere. The AmCham acts as a spokesperson for its members before government institutions and private business associations. Together AmCham’s members represent a wide range of economic sectors: 50% from services, 30% from industry, and 20% from the trade segment. AmCham’s members aggregate exports total $5 billion per year, and in the domestic market, members generate $20 billion in sales annually.
